Fletcher is a town in Henderson County, North Carolina. The population was estimated to be 8,079 in 2016. Fletcher is adjacent to Asheville Regional Airport and is about a 20-25 minute commute into Downtown Asheville. A post office called Fletcher has been in operation since 1886.  The town took its name from the Fletcher family of pioneer settlers. It is bordered to the west by the town of Mills River and to the east by unincorporated Hopper’s Creek and Etowah, all in Henderson County.
